Italy still listed as one of the best destinations for summer holidays

June 5, 2017

Italy has been listed as one of the best destinations in the world for summer holidays, together with the United Kingdom and France. The Belpaese is the country of choice especially for wealthy jetsetter who are looking for exclusive mansions, the best of art and culture, and sophisticated services.

It’s safe to say that, when money is absolutely not an obstacle for your fabulous “free” moments, Italy is still the best destination in the world. That’s the conclusion of a recent research which looked the most popular countries sought by wealthy jetsetter in the United States: Europe is still very much appreciated!

Conducted by the Virtuoso network, the research involved experts who looked at bookings made for this summer through their network which, so far, total more than $39.7 billion in transactions.

In the top ten of the most loved destinations for summer holidays, Italy is first, the UK is second, France is third and Spain is fourth.

But why is Italy still victorious in this competition? Essentially, because it offers natural and cultural attractions throughout the entire country, and because the strength of the US dollar against the euro and the British pound are making Europe a particularly appealing destination for 2017.

Outside of Europe, a much loved destinations for travelers is South Africa, especially because of its safaris and wilderness retreats, while Canada is also ranked in the highest positions in the list as the country celebrates its 150th anniversary with a slew of events planned from coast to coast (By the way, July 1 is Canada Day).

Let’s take a look at the final Top Ten of summer destinations for 2017:

  3. France
  4. Spain
