Description

Recently renovated to a high standard, Villa Gelsomino is a great property situated approximately five kilometers (10 minutes) from Lucca, in Tuscany, comprising one main house for a maximum of 16 guests and a barn of inferior quality for 4 people of staff or extra guests, together with a XVI century chapel.

Seven of the bedrooms in the main house have ensuite bathrooms and the eighth is an interconnecting room, ideal for children. There is generous living accommodation both inside and out, and an extremely attractive covered terrace with barbecue for al fresco dining. The owners have totally restored this luxury property for rent to a very high standard using authentic materials in the traditional Lucchese style: terracotta tiled floors, chestnut beamed ceilings, colors from the Tuscan tradition.

Villa Gelsomino also features modern, well-equipped kitchens and bathrooms, a plasma screen tv with sky satellite and DVD, stereo systems, central heating, and a fabulous gym. The feel is fresh, clean, and happy. With an overall floor space of 1'000 sqm, all rooms are extremely large and spacious, fitted with ceiling fans. The villa is perfect for a relaxing family vacation or an amazing stay between friends.

Location

Villa Gelsomino is just a few kilometers from the beautiful town of Lucca, which remains one of Tuscany’s most famous historical towns. Just a short thirty minutes from Pisa and from the Versilia coast, not more than an hour from Florence, the heart of the Renaissance, this luxury property is perfectly located in Tuscany.

Lucca is revered by most travel guides for its Medieval city wall, however, the more natural beauty of this historical city’s gardens make them a must-see as well. Because of Lucca's land being rich with water beneath its surface, its greenery showcases outstanding foliage amongst the city's most opulent villas. Known for its wealthy inhabitants devoted to maintaining their city’s historical identity, this area defends its unique culture at the highest standard.

Names to look for in one’s travel books are Garfagnana, Borgo a Mozzano, Forte dei Marmi, Via Francigena, Lucchio, Versilia, Marble itineraries. The area nearby Villa Gelsomino is famous for several highly elegant villas of nobility, basking in the verdant countryside of olive groves and vineyards. These were not only the summer residences of nobles, but were also architectural representations of nobility itself, as Villa Torrigiani, Villa Reale, Villa Mansi and other beautiful villas that can be visited in Tuscany.
