Description

Perched up on top of a cliff overlooking the sea in southern Tuscany, Villa Sara is a very private and peaceful luxury property, yet not too far from historically and naturally interesting places. It can accommodate up to 12 guests, and it is the ideal place for sea and nature lovers.

Originally an ancient watch tower that dates back to the 13th Century, this rental has been recently fully restored and offers great views from its terraces and from the swimming pool below. A walkway leads down to the sea shore and the private sun deck while a private road leads to the property.

The luminous lounge on the first floor of Villa Sara offers again various vistas to the mediterranean sea, the terrace furnished with table, chairs and sun loungers is a great spot for relaxing or alfresco dining whilst enjoying the sea views and the Tuscan islands on the horizon. Villa Sara is furnished with antiques, maintaining it’s historical atmosphere, but the interior is airy, full of light, cosy and welcoming.

Please note that the private beach (small rocks) is shared with an other property in the estate. It is possible to share that area or to agree on turns for use of the space.

Location

Villa Sara is set on top of a cliff overlooking the sea in the region of the Tuscan Maremma. Today, more than ever, Maremma is the perfect choice for the romantic traveller. It offers a mixture of ancient civilizations, enduring local traditions, lush landscapes and numerous nature reserves. All of this is accompanied by an outstanding culinary and wine-making tradition.

There are long stretches of fine white sand accompanied by lush pine forests, tiny coves and crystal-clear water, deserted beaches, uncontaminated islands in an enchanted sea, villages and castles that are austere and festive at the same time, gentle landscapes brimming with history and natural wonders.

You can breathe the fragrance of the sea and earth all year long in the Maremma thanks to trekking and mountain bike itineraries and exhilarating horseback excursions, that take you to splendid natural terraces. Few other parts of Italy have so many charming villages so easily and quickly reachable from the coast. Often these villages have their origins in the Etruscan or Roman civilizations or are veritable gems of Medieval architecture.

Yet another aspect of the Maremma is its extraordinarily rich culinary tradition with both sea and inland specialties, accompanied by the Mediterrenean aroma of its olive oil and famed DOC wines.
