Location
Villa Regina can be the perfect location for a luxury holiday, business meetings, or a special honeymoon in Italy. If you're looking for the perfect Italian accomodation for your vacation, you can't help to consider this exclusive luxury villa set in the privileged and quiet location of Tremezzo, that offers lake views and complete privacy.
The villa is an old residence dating back to the 17th century. It was restored in a baroque style in the 18th century by Tiepolo's school artists. Villa Regina provides guests with an unforgettable experience, offering the opportunity of living in a 18th century atmosphere with all modern comforts. Villa Regina is still inhabited by the Serbelloni family heirs .
The Serbelloni is an important family that became well-known through Gabrio Serbelloni (1509-1580). The most famous collection of Serbelloni Palace of Milan was moved into the Villa during the 40s: Stradivari and Amati lutes, porcelains, French tapestries and the room where Napoleon slept during his Italian campaign.
Part of the Villa has been turned into a prestigious museum that can be visited by asking the owners.
“…This lake, as far as beauty is concerned, overcomes anything else that I have ever seen… It is long and narrow and resembles a magnificent serpentine flower between mountains and ridges… the mountains between Como and that town (Tremezzo), or rather groups of towns , high up and covered with chestnut woods, sometimes reaching the edge of the lake…”
Percy Bysshe Shelley
