A virtual tour of Italy? Now it is possible with Google Now!

The famous service Google Now has officially implemented its virtual tour of Italy: it’s called “The Grand Tour of Italy” and is magnificent.

According to several sources, Google has recreated a sort of mythical journey which will allow virtual travelers to explore all of Italy’s hidden treasures.

“The Grand Tour of Italy” is based on a real journey made in country about 300 years ago, by wealthy young, adventure-seeking men and women who were dispatched by their upper-class families to explore Italy’s art and culture and become sophisticated and learned citizens of the world.

Of course, Google allows the same journey to be taken in a way more democratic way, since basically everyone can participate.

The VR experience explores four beautiful cities in the country, Venice, Palermo, Siena and Rome, through 25 videos, 21 Street View tours, 38 digital exhibitions and 1,300 ultra-high resolution images.
