Villa Petra

Villa Petra is a contemporary villa that combines comfort, style and a stunning location. This property has unique characteristics with its beautiful hand-made stone blocks, its traditional stone structure and the original and colorful interiors. It is located in Tremezzina, one of the most beautiful corner of Como Lake. The villa and its garden are the perfect place for a unique and exclusive staying, perfect for privacy and relax! Villa Petra is was totally renovated in 2015.

The original stonewalls are juxtaposed with contemporary and cosmopolitan furnishings that emphasize the villa’s innate beauty.

The sprawling private garden along the shore offers direct access to the water by private gate.

THE VILLA

The Villa Petra’s spacious living area is comprised of a roomy kitchen, a dining room that seats up to twelve and a sitting room.

The functional space is separate from the sleeping area, which has three bedrooms with a total of six beds, two bathrooms with large multifunction showers and a whirlpool. The fine painted wood-finished window frames are outfitted with soundproof glass to ensure the guests’ relaxation and tranquility.

The living room’s dramatic stone fireplace is open on both sides, creating a harmonious continuity with the kitchen. The floors are made by wooden beams and retro cast iron radiators give the ambience warmer. There is a perfect combination of contemporary and historic architecture that comes from the implementation of minimalist and eclectic décor.

The kitchen is a white room designed around a long wooden table surrounded by twelve comfortable chairs, where guests may sit to eat, work, chat or play. A central island contains induction hobs, a workspace, a dishwasher and a place to eat breakfast, snacks and aperitivo.

The sleeping area contains three cozy bedrooms for six people and it is designed with particular linear spaces and balanced colorful light. Two master bedrooms have terraces overlooking the lake and the third, which overlooks the garden, contains two single beds that can form a double bed if necessary. All rooms have satellite TV and parquet floors.

The Villa has two contemporary bathrooms with a spa-inspired design. The main bathroom has simple lines, a marble floor and a black and white color scheme. The room has a large multifunction showerhead and glass massage jets, a Jacuzzi, a washbasin that appears detached from the wall and a modern toilet and bidet. It is a true wellness oasis!

OUTSIDE

The 140-square-meter villa is surrounded by an extensive planted. Guests may relax on the portico’s terrace and enjoy the splendid panoramic view of Lake Como and Comacina Island and stunning Pre-Alps. Villa Petra has a private garden of more than 1,500 sqm in front of the lake. The grass is full of centuries old olive trees, the typical vegetation on this side of Lake Como so much so that this area is called Zoca dell'Oli ("Oil Basin"). In front of the villa there is a secular cypress with its impressive size.
Guests can access the lake through a side door from the lawn or by using an iron staircase. It also features a private boat slip and buoy for the exclusive use of the property: privacy is guaranteed!

A little curiosity is that the original owner of the house was a painter. The kitchen/dining room was the “studio” of the owner.
