Body Worlds in Milan, the exhibition dedicated to the human body

You have until February 17, 2013 to attend Gunther von Hagens' Body Worlds - The real world of the human body, the traveling exhibition arrived in Milan last fall and held at Fabbrica del Vapore. Thanks to the technique of "plastination", invented and patented by the German scientist Gunther von Hagens, Body Worlds guide visitors through a unique and fascinating interior visit of the human body, with an exhibition never seen before in Italy.

The process of plastination allows to perfectly preserve human tissues and organs, by replacing some silicone polymers to body fluids. In this way the visitor experience is direct and neat, not mediated by the presence of filters, as in case of jars of formalin, where anatomical samples were immersed in the past.

The exhibition in Milan celebrates the wonder of the human body, paying particular attention to the heart, consider the real "engine" of life, the first organ to form after conception. Through the comparison between healthy organs and organs affected by deseases, showing almost all the details of anatomy, Body Worlds discloses and teaches on issues of health, wellness and proper nutrition, enabling people to understand exactly what happens when the body get sick and how the wrong life style can affect your health.

Body Worlds of Milan reveals the secrets of anatomy and function of the human body, making it accessible and understandable to the general public; it's a range of information that otherwise would be relegated to a restricted group of scientist. It also allows you to understand directly the complexity and amazing perfection of the human body: the spectacle of the anatomy is reachable to everyone.
